As most of y'all know, I'm a Florida girl. I currently live in Panama City, which is in north Florida and the area is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. In addition to showing off the gawjuss beaches, I'm going to take you to a few other places around town and show you a couple of places we've visited.
Without further ado, here we go!
The Beaches:
Mexico Beach, pictured above and below, is the beach we go to most frequently. It's only about 20 minutes from my house, and is dog friendly and off leash on west side (the beach is split by a canal, with a "peeps only" side and a "dog friendly" side). It's almost always totally deserted from about early October to mid-March, and even in the summer months (which for us is mid-March to early October) is the least crowded beach around. We've had a few run ins with nasty people and out of control dogs, but for the most part we love Mexico Beach.
St. George Island, pictured below, is another gorgeous beach. While not as secluded as Mexico Beach, it's still "Forgotten Florida". It was our beach of choice when we lived in Tallahassee, but since moving we haven't been there in over a year. Too bad, because Mom and I really miss it.
Vacations and trips:
We went to Atlanta, GA, when I was 10 months old and again a month after my first birthday. Sorry for the crappy pictures; this was pre-Nikon.
L to R: Boston, ME, Auggie |
I'm in the sky blue harness, Auggie is in the dark blue, and Boston is in the pink. DM: Eek! I can't believe how fat I let Nola get here!!! |
This is the view from Legal Seafood. Can't see them, but the World of Coke and the Atlanta Aquarium are to the left. |
We visited Birmingham, AL, just after my first birthday.

That's a wrap! I hope y'all enjoyed my little tour.
I hope we have another event like this soon, because Mom and I will be doing a lot of traveling in the next two years! First we'll be visiting the North East (probably stay in Boston but venture to Maine, New Hampshire and the rest of MA) after Mom's birthday next year, then we'll head to Italy for 4-6 weeks. We're so excited, even though it's a ways off!
Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola
PS: I had 3 other places to show you, but our piece of shit computer keeps shutting down Safari every time I try to add photos.
What a great travel post. This is also a great reminder that I need to link up with Roxy too. Gawjuss, Nola!
