Hi, everyone! Mom is feeling a lot better (besides couching like a chain-smoker), thanks for all your get well wishes!
Yesterday the peeps and I went to the beach! Yup, the beach, in mid December! It was a beautiful, balmy, 75 degree day just perfect for a beach outing. The lighting was soft and lovely, but the camera shutter speed/ISO were too low so lots of the pictures came out blurry (
Dachshund Mommy: that's what I get for using the automatic settings instead of my usual manual.). But we got a few good ones!
Mom and I also worked on my training; recall, sit, down, stay, sit/stay, down/stay, spin, and keeping close to Mom's side (basically heeling, but on the right instead of the left). I got to be off leash for the first time as a person passed us, and I completely ignored him and stayed focus on Mom.
Dachshund Mommy: I was so incredibly happy and proud of my beautiful girl! She continues to get better and better with her training, and her focus and attention on me grows every day. Her recall was absolutely flawless, just perfect. She returns voluntarily often too, and comes flying back as soon as the words "Nola, come!" leave my lips. I adore this dog.
Smart, funny, gawjuss, photogenic....What's not to love?
Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola

We sure are glad you took care of your mom. How else would you get to the beach
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
What a good girl Nola. I think getting Chester and Gretel to ignore a person on or off leash is hopeless. Maybe it would make a difference if we went and practiced on a beach too :)
ReplyDeleteYou got some gorgeous shots. That second picture looks like heaven on earth. I'm so happy that Nola is doing well with her training. As a family of untrained hounds, I know that that is a testament to you as much as Nola.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun! Lee and Phod
ReplyDeleteWhat a very good pup you are, Nola! You sure do deserve a good run on that beautiful beach!
ReplyDeleteHey Nola,
ReplyDeleteCan Amber DeWeenie and I get a group rate at your house? She lives up the road from us here and we could carpool together. Then your Mom can train the both of us at the same time.
So happy to hear your training is going sooooo well! Pawsome pictures today :)
Love ya Girlfurend,
Lily Belle
It was freezing cold and we were stuck inside while danced on the beach! Sometimes life seems so unfair!
ReplyDeleteWe are proud of your training progress, Nola and Nola Mom. It is hard work but so worth it when it all comes together.
wow you are so lucky, if we were to go on the beach we would need long johns and a million layers!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures! Nola is such a sweetie!
