November Photo Challenge: Week 4 and Vet

Hi, everyone! Dachshund Mommy here with week 4 of the November Photo a Day Challenge. I'm mostly happy with the week's photos, LOL! Which is your favorite?

Nola goes to the vet today for her annual exam. It's a new vet (since we moved here in May), but my aunt's dog goes there and they're happy with them.
While we're there, I want to talk to the vet and ask if Nola might possibly have Luxating Patella (slipping kneecaps). When she runs full speed, she does this odd extra long step with her right back leg. Just the right one, and only when she runs at full speed. It doesn't happen every single time she runs, or in a pattern when it happens, but it's there (however faint it is). It's the same leg Nola sprained by falling off the bed when she was 4 months old. So if you could keep your paws and fingers crossed everything checks out it'd mean a lot to us!

PS. You like the new header?

Day 23: Black
Day 24: A sound you heard
Day 25: Sky
The pale blue of a FL sky at dusk is incomparable.

Day 26: In the cupboard
Day 27: Tree
Day 28: Vehicle
It was piss pouring rain this day, which is my excuse for the crappy picture. :P

Day 29: Big
My big hearted little-dog-in-a-big-dog-suit. With a very crooked nose. So cute!

Tree, Cards and First Christmas Header Photo Shoot= Total Flop

Hi, everyone! Christmas is in the air, and now that Thanksgiving over it's time for my house to move onto Christmas. We got our tree (that I picked out), have set up some lights (need more, and still have to set up our Christmas Doxie, Pearl) and the Christmas cards have been pouring in (Dachshund Mommy: for Nola, that is. I haven't gotten the first damn one, LOL!). I address all my cards, now we just need stamps and to send em out.

I had my first photo shoot for a Christmas themed header, and that was a total, utter flop. Not my fault, it was all Mom's. The light was bad (it's been grey and overcast for the past few days. Hello, I live in FL! This isn't right!) and her ISO was too high (which she didn't realize till the end of the shoot), making the vast majority of the pictures grainy. SO, I have to reshoot today and see what we get! Wish us luck!

Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola
Some of my cards. Plus 2

"Momma!! I got one from my BFF Lily Belle!"

Dachshund Mommy: Nola was VERY interested in her BFF's card, it was so cute
She even opened it to read it!

More cards

This is MY card

It's from The Dachsies with Moxie!

Gettin to work on my own cards. See Mom's iPhone with the black Doxie case? How cute is that!

This and the two below were the only semi decent shoots we got.
I have  bow. On my head. See?

Aww, so cute
Christmas trees!
Why yes, Mom, I DID have to bark at that lady. Duh.

It's a cute little crooked Charlie Brown tree! This is obviously pre lights and ornaments

Stuff for Peeps too!
And stuff just for Scotties and Westies!

 From the site:
Established now in over 30 countries. As a stockist you should benefit from the  company’s global promotional activities.

The brand is still way ahead in design and quality to what is currently available. Hamish McBeth styling is unique and distinctly different.  We dare to be different by designing products to reflect the taste of today’s fashion conscious owners.

We will continue to work with only the finest leathers and materials available.

Every Hamish McBeth item is designed in-house then thoroughly road tested to provide you with a unique and quality product.

Our designs are fun and functional at the same time. Who else can supply you with a unique ID tag the shape of a Pod Player decorated with Czech crystals?

We only use the best materials.  For  instance - our highly-skilled craftsmen produce the very highest quality using cow hide leather, where the old-fashioned   tradition of fine stitching,  precision cutting and excellent finishing is not forgotten. Even the buckles, clips and D Rings are carefully designed and branded.

Our knitwear is made only from pure Mongolian wool.  For our name tags we use real Czech crystals and protect the faces with a tough protective resin coating.

The soft toys are double-skinned to make  them stronger and safe. Our grooming kits are made with quality steel with ergonomic handles.

Hamish McBeth recognises the global movement towards eco-friendly products.

You will find a growing number of your customers actively seek eco-friendly and safe organic products.

Hamish McBeth only uses eco-friendly vegetable tanned leather. Unlike chrome processed leather, it is low allergenic and there are no harmful toxins used in the process.

Hamish McBeth leather pet products show that pet accessories can be fashionable, environmentally friendly and safe for you and your pet.

Hamish McBeth sent me this to die for leather collar. Isn't it stunning?! They have collars for every type, from manly mandogs to feminine yet classy girls. I'm a total sucker for leather collars.
Not only are the collars absolutely gorgeous, they're also incredibly durable! You've seen me in lots of pictures with a pink leather flowered collar on, right? That's from Hamish McBeth, and I've had it for more than a year. In fact, if a certain puppy (ehm, Phoenix!) hadn't pulled out some of the stitching it would still be in stellar condition.

Freaking beautiful!
Unique, you will not see a collar like one from Hamish McBeth
Lots of selection
High quality
Decent prices for the incredible quality
Fast shipping
Real leather collars
Wool sweaters

Nothing to see here! Move along now.

I give Hamish McBeth 4 paws up and 5 out of 5 stars! Head over there and check them out, and tell em Nola sent ya!

Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola

Given my long, dainty neck, the thicker collar looks cool! After all, I am a mini Greyhound

Monday Mischief: A Visitor and I Like Pie

Hi, everyone! We have a new "neighbor", and you'll never guess who (or what) he is!

He's a flying squirrel!!! Isn't he cute?! He lives in the oak tree right in front of our house. We discovered him on Thanksgiving morning, after he'd been squeaking outside the window all night! We've nicknamed him Squeakers.
Can you spot him in the below photo?
Me neither. I don't think he's in this picture, BOL

I have something of a confession to make.
Wanna hear what I did?

But first, let me set the scene.
It's Wednesday morning, and my Sweetie made four pumpkin pies to take to my Grandpa's house that evening. She went outside (and the Minions went out with her),  leaving two of the pies on our dinning room table to cool. Mom stepped out of the kitchen to go get dressed, and next thing she hears is a big commotion coming from the kitchen. I had climbed onto the table and knocked both pies onto the floor and started eating them!!! I ate nearly a whole pie and stuck my nose in the second before they were taken from my custody.
This was all that was left of one pie
And my nose prints in the other one

LOL I was naughty

Dachshund Mommy: I was FLOORED when Nola did this. She has never in the nearly two years I've had her stolen food off the table. NEVER. Food stealing is more Auggie's thing and Nola's generally the best behaved of the bunch. Not that day, apparently!
She did not get sick at all from consuming nearly an entire pie (remember that Nola is only 8lbs). My girl normally has a bit of a sensitive stomach, but of course eating a whole pie wouldn't bother her. Lets just say her poop was easy to spot after she ate the pie. Like bright orange easy to spot.

Dachshund Nola

Happy Birthday, Auggie!

We interrupt the usual Charlotte Saturday to celebrate the birthday of everyone's favorite cross-dresser, my minion/brother Auggie! Happy birthday, Little Blonde Thing!
He was pretty cute. But I was/am/always will be CUTER!

Phee's first night home

Our heads are so different we don't look like the same breed. Auggie has the more roman nosed, classic Dachshund appearance where I have the slimmer, foxier face and higher set ears most commonly seen in working lines from Germany.

This is Mom's favorite picture of me and Auggie

Nothing much has changed!

I still play a mean game of bitey face

Note from Dachshund Mommy: Notice Nola photo bombs nearly all of the pictures. Also, despite what she says, Nola and Auggie get along fantastically
