Dachshund Nola Reviews: TidNips

I'm a pro at this posing stuff.
Hi, everyone! A few days ago I got an email from Brent at (we at Dachshund Nola love asking me if I'd like to do a review of Canidae's TidNips treats. I said hell yeah (well, not in those words but you get my general idea.)!

But before I get to the review, I just want to let y'all know that we'll be going up to Richmond, VA early Thursday morning (for a funeral) and come back on Sunday. I'll continue with my daily posts (of course), and try to comment as much as possible, but if you don't hear from me that's why! Don't furget me!

Please don't furget me! I'm too cute for such an injustice.
Mom loves this picture
Dachshund Mommy: No food or anything is used here. This is the way Nola looks at me. Aww.

Back to the review! I picked out the chicken, turkey, lamb and salmon  variety. I absolutely loved these treats! They rank right up there with Zuke's, if that gives you any indication. They're made with pretty stellar ingredients, too. Take a look:

Chicken, Turkey, Potato, Lamb, Brown Rice, Vegetable Glycerine, Oats, Salmon, Carrots, Peas, Molasses, Potato Starch, Cranberries, Salt, Natural Smoke Flavor, Garlic Powder, Sodium Bisulfate, Flax Seed, Sorbic Acid , Citric Acid, Mixed Tocopherols, Rosemary.

And they're made in the USA! Pretty cool, huh!

Good ingredients; no corn, soy or by-products, ect
Smell great-to me and Mom!
Decent price for the quality; about the same as Zuke's for about the same size
Resealable bag
High value, which makes them a great training treat
Made in the USA
If you go with, incredibly fast shipping and stellar customer service!

Size. They're too big to give to me whole, so Mom cuts a whole one up into about 15 pieces. But remember, I'm tiny at 7 1/2-8lbs.

They contain garlic powder. People seem to be on the fence about garlic, but studies have shown that garlic (in large quantities or over a long period of time) can cause damage to red blood cells.

They don't have a grain free option. Not a deal breaker for us, but it might be for some people.

Overall, we loved these treats! Head over to to get some!
Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola

I hear the collective "aww!"

Take note of the small, fox-like nose in the upper left corner.

Cruel bitch  training focused Mom made me wait

Treat/Toy Swap!

Hi, everyone! Thank you all for Sugar's birthday wishes. Today's the big reveal for the Toy/Treat Swap hosted by me and Cole of Weiner Tales! So exciting!

I was partnered with The Dachsies With Moxie (who recently had to let the beautiful Anna Rose go to the rainbow bridge- run free and fast, Anna Rose! You were so loved) for the swap, and I absolutely love what they sent me. It couldn't have come at a better time either; the package came when I was sick and as soon as I smelled DWM and WHN I perked up!
Because of my terrible allergies, they sent us all (ME, Boston, Auggie and Phoenix) our furry own shirts! They're just too cute, and we love them! Thank you, DWM!

Of course, Mom couldn't get the others to sit still so there's not pictures of them (what amateurs). But there's photos of ME, and that's all that matters!

Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola

October Photo Challenge: Week 3

Hi, everyone! Dachshund Mommy here with week 3 of the October Photo A Day Challenge. You'll have to forgive me for the absolute shit quality of these photos, this was when Nola was so sick. It was the first time in the nearly two years I've had her she's ever (minus her food allergies) been sick.
I know they all suck, but which of these is your favorite?

Dachshund Nola Reviews: Lulu'sCollars

How precious is this picture!
Hi, everyone! Today I'm doing a review for the lovely Etsy shop Lulu'sCollars. The shop is full of adorable and sturdy harnesses, collars and tutu(!) harnesses, and I picked out this sassy little harness for my minion/sister Phoenix.
Off topic for a second, but I just gotta say that Phee is my shadow. She wants to do any and everything I do, all the time. I'm very good with her, but sometimes a girl needs her space, ya know?

Back to the review! Phee and I are really happy with this shop and her cute little harness. It fits her (and her personality) perfectly! It's strong and durable but still very comfy. Here's a bit from the shop:

My harnesses are made using the following:
-100% cotton fabric
-Sturdy interfacing
-Side release contoured buckles for easy release
-Solid heavy duty d-rings
-Durable, washable and FUN!
-All bows are attached with rubberbands and can be removed

One of my very favorite things about this harness is that it's not made of nylon, so it doesn't have that webbed feeling to it. That means Phee can wear it without getting rubbed! The bow on the back of the harness adds that special touch that makes her harness unique looking.

Too damn cute!
Cotton, not nylon
Bright, vivid prints and colors
Lots of choices
Custom items available
Good customer service, always a huge plus
A good price
The bow!
Perfect fit
The snap buckle is very easy to release. There's nothing Mom hates more than putting a harness with a tough buckle on a wiggling pup.

Nothing! Move along, nothing to see here.

We give Lulu'sCollars 4 (I guess 8 since Phoenix is here) and two thumbs up, and 5 out of 5 stars! So head over there, and tell em Nola sent ya!
Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola (and Phee)

This is how most pictures of Phee turn out. The joy of puppyhood.

My Halloween Costume

Hi, everyone! Yesterday Mom took me and Phoenix to PetsMart for some socializing and to get weighed. Phee was a little nervous around people, but did okay. I did very well, but there was one women who I really didn't like (I barked a bit). I do that; some people just trigger me and I hate them. There's no rhyme or reason to it; I just do not like certain people. The funny thing is, it's almost always people who give Mom the creeps/weird vibes that I have a problem with. Maybe I sense something (I am a highly sensitive and emotional dog) about them, who knows.
Phoenix (she's around 4 months, give or take a few weeks) was 4lbs 7oz and I was 7lbs 9ozs. A combination of me being so sick last week and getting more exercise made me go from 8lbs 5-9ozs to 7lbs 9ozs. Dachshund Mommy: I'm a nazi about Nola's weight, but this is too low. A healthy weight for her is anywhere from 7lbs 12oz to 8lbs 5oz. Doesn't seem like much of a difference, but ounces on a small dog are pounds on a big one.

I've decided on my Halloweenie costume! It's...A DEVIL! Mom says it's perfectly fitting, but I beg to differ. What do y'all think?

Don't forget about my costume contest! Find the details here, but basically:

  • Email me at nolabuggy AT gmail DOT com with your picture, name, blog addy and what you're dressed as
  • The deadline is November 1st
  • The winner gets a $25 dollar Target gift card

Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola
