Hi everybody!! OMD it's official: my peeps are C-R-A-Z-Y! Yup, they've finally lost it, every bit of sanity is gone as of yesterday.
It started off like any normal (yeah right, normal's a common word in my house. NOT) Sunday. I became suspicious when an air of excitement started filling the room, and my suspicions were confirmed when I was locked away  crated along with the minions. The peeps were gone for like 87 hours, and when they came back something was very odd. They opened the door and I heard the strangest sound ever. Sounded like a broken squeaky toy. It smelled funny too...OMD WHAT HAVE YOU BROUGHT HOME?!?!?!?!?! I just knew whoever the strange sound and smell belonged to was here for no good reason, and I simply couldn't allow it to remain.
When Mom finally let me out of my crate and leashed me up (I can't wait for that yard, it'll be so nice to not be leashed all the time. But I digress.) and led me to the backyard, I saw it. W.T.F? I have never seen such an odd looking, bowlegged, busty creature. I barked like a possessed demon calmly walked up behind it and politely told it to get off my property. Then it turn around and OMD OMD OMD WHAT IS IT?!

"OMD!!!! MOM, what the bleep is THAT?!"
"She's a goat Nola.  A Tennessee Fainting Goat, to be exact."
"Okay woman, this is the final straw. You've lost it."
"She's sweet Nola, see? (pets this "goat" thing) Her name is Plymouth, and she's our new pet"

A goat. REALLY??!! And get this: the goat is pregnant! O.M.D!
Kisses and Tail Wags,
The Flabbergasted Dachshund Nola
Note from Dachshund Mommy: It is the funniest thing ever to watch these goats faint. If our internet wasn't so slow I'd post a video, but feel free to YouTube "fainting goats" and you won't be disappointed.
Apparently, this is our goat. Pregger Plymouth BOL

The Barest Of Necessities

Hi everyone! Thank you all for the crossed paws for my furiend Lola. I really appreciate it, and I know Lola's mom does too.
So Mom says, since we're packing up and all, that we'll be living with the bare necessities for a couple weeks. Okay, fine. But it turns out her definition of "bare necessities" and my definition are two VERY different things:
Mom's definition. Plus the camera

MY definition.

Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola
Pee.S What do you think of the new header?

Little Dachshund, Big Stick

POWER OF THE PAW NEEDED: Please stop by my friend Lola's Blog, she desperately needs POTP. Lola has a blood clotting disorder and will have potentially life saving surgery tomorrow. It's a very risky procedure, but Lola will die if she doesn't have it. A ChipIn has been set up on Lola's Blog, and I will put it up on mine too. If you can't help that way (I understand completely) then please leave a few words of encouragement for Lola and her mom during this awful time. Thank you my Blogville family, you're the best!

A HUGE Announcement and The Mini Mes

Hi everyone! Are you all ready to hear my HUGELY MAGJOR news? You sure? Okay. The Announcement is.......Drumroll please......
WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

You read that right, the peeps I am now a homeowner! Well, most likely. The inspection will be today or tomorrow and if all goes well we close on the 30th! This is SO exciting! Now, a bit about the place. Sadly, it's not anywhere in New England (sob). It's in Panama City Fl. Only 20-20 minutes from one of Florida's most beautiful beaches. But the best part about it? It has a MASSIVE, just massive, fenced-in yard! This is huge, where we live now there's no fence so I'm always going out on leash which is no fun at all. The house needs some TLC, but once it's painted and has new floors and appliances it'll be really nice.

My good furiend Rubie from Australia is hosting a cool event for her upcoming birthday called Pawtners N' Pals, basically what you do is if you follow Rubie's blog (and you should, she's a sweetheart) you email her a picture of you with your likeness.  You can read the details over at our lovely Blogville Community Calendar. Here's my picture from Rubie's event!

It Runs In The Family

Hi all! First, a very sad goodbye to our beautiful furiend Ginger of Dachsies With Moxie, who went to the rainbow bridge very suddenly yesterday evening. Run free sweet girl, you will be missed.
It seems being proud of your figure and ehm, assets runs in the family!
Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola
UPDATE: My blog was removed today at about 2 in the afternoon. It has obviously been restored and I have no idea why it was gone, but I had to restore my Gmail and change my password. Does anyone know why this went wrong or have had the same issues?

The Master Of Manipulation

Hi everyone! This is how I get my Mom to play with me by using these easy manipulation tips anyone can follow.
Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola
"Momma, will you play with me?"
The key here is to be perfectly sweet and innocent looking, making your eyes as round as possible.
Haha! Success
 "Whatever Nola wants, Nola gets"

Dachshund Mommy: I know, I know. My dog is strange and possibly evil. But I love her anyway
I can do this laying down. I am the master!
If you peeps say no more playing, just give them this look:
No words needed here.

Works. Every. Single. Time.
And that my furiends is how it's done.

My Brother, The Cross-Dresser

Hi everybody! Most of you have met my brother Auggie, aka Little Blonde Thing.
Little Blonde Thing.
Well, I have something to tell ya'll about him.....You wanna know?.........You sure.........? Okay, I'll tell you...

He cross dresses!*

He would be so embarrassed if he saw this post BOL! Seriously though, he STEALS my clothes!!! My dresses, shirts, bandanas, necklaces, ribbons and even my COLLAR! You don't mess with girl's wardrobe. Not if you wanna live, or at least not if you don't want to have your dirtiest secret laid out for all of Blogville to see, curtsey of you diabolical sister i.e. ME!

As soon as my wardrobe is open he dashes forward, whining and shoving to get at MY clothes! Then, when Mom has the audacity to oblige his cross dressing ways, he stands perfectly still to have the clothes put on. Let me tell you this: I am a very petite girl. He is not (petite that is, it's getting a little fuzzy on the girl thing).
So if you think about trying on MY clothes again, Auggie, reread this post!
Kisses and Tail Wags,
The Vengeful Dachshund Nola
*As with everything about me, this post must be taken with a grain of salt. I don't mean to offend anyone but my brother.
ME with some of MY clothes
HEY BUDDY! That's MY dress! I know a cop (that's you Sarge), I'll have you arrested for theft, harassment and impersonating royalty!
Don't just stand there Mom! DO something!
Great. The third sister I always wanted.
I must wear it in an attempt to shrink it back to my tiny size
It's hopeless.

Beach Pictures and Mom Update

Hi everyone! Before I show you my beach pictures I just want to give you an update on how Mom is doing and to say thanks for all the well wishes. She's doing good, no infection/dry sockets and the pain isn't too bad at all. She gets tired easy still and eats mostly soft foods. I love that though because I get so many Jello and pudding cups to clean BOL! The funny thing is, Mom had her surgery on Thursday and for dinner that night she ate a Big Mac cut up tiny BOL!
Here are my beach pictures! Sorry they're a bit blurry, Mom didn't bring her fancy camera so we made do with the iPhone.
Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola
Pee.S. Did you know the beach is a great cure for fleas? I had a few before we went and I've only had 3 since!
I'm wet and hungry, stop snapping pictures!
Ohhh it's bright!
Let's get this pawty started!

New Food Day and Mom Update

Hi everybody! Thank you all again for the nice comments and support for my Mom. They worked because she feels much better this time then last!
For anyone new that doesn't know, I eat homemade food due to severe corn and soy allergies. I've been on homemade for about 8 months, and am doing absolutely fantastic! You can read about why I'm fed homemade and it's many benefits here.
Tuesday Mom mixed up a big batch of food (2-3 weeks worth among 4 Dachshunds) and here's what's in it:
A lot of meat. Mom forgot to measure, but it's chicken, beef and pork.
3 green bell peppers, chopped
6 carrots, plus a hand full of baby carrots, cut small
4 cups pineapple
1 stalk of celery, chopped
7 cups of raw oats
1 teaspoon salt
5 tablespoons of ground organic flaxseed
4 tablespoons of parsley
Put into freezer bags and freeze! All done!
Kisses and Tail Wags,
The Not at all spoiled Dachshund Nola
Green pepper is yummy!
