Dremel = One Of The Best Dog Things Ever

The dogs' Dremel/nail grinder has been one of the best dog-related purchases I've ever made. It's slowly working Nola's nails into shape, and Pike's stay beautifully short since he's been having them done every week since he was around 4 months. Nola gets hers done about every 3-5 days, and it's been a dramatic improvement.

  1. I've been wanting to use a dremmel on Monty's nails, but he is suspicious of the thing. We've been trying since we've gotten him to no luck. I think that's one of the differences between raising a pup and a rescue. He's okay with me nipping his nails with a clipper, so he gets his done every two weeks.

  2. I have been wanting to start using a dremmel with my dogs, but I'm not sure what to buy. Can you share which dremmel you have? THANKS!

  3. I seriously love my dremel. So much less stress for me, since I know I won't accidentally cut the dog's quick if they move at the last minute.

We do have a Facebook group called Thursday Nail Trims that has the purpose of reminding people to trim/grind nails weekly. I thought it was a good idea, and I think a lot of people in the group have found it helpful. Plus it sort of holds you accountable for actually getting nails done.

  5. I should try that on Bentley and Pierre. I'm afraid the noise would freak them out. ☺

  6. I tried a dremel once with K, and she was terrified of the motor. Maybe I should try again with our current Duo. We use clippers but R really doesn't like them.

  7. Nail cutting is such an ordeal here, might have to check this out.

  8. Thanks for sharing. Bentley has black nails (like Nola) and I just dread trimming them; the other dogs are easy enough to do with the clippers. I think I need to look into one, would love to know what brand/type you use.
