Dachshund Nola Reviews: COG Dog CollarWorks

Hey, everyone! On Monday I'll share with you the new chicks we added to our flock, but today is all about a review for COG Dog CollarWorks, a company that makes super cute collars in dozens of funky fabrics.
Something neat about COG Dog that I haven't seen before is this little bit about their collars:

All collars are made with 100% cotton fabric wrapped and sewn around polypropylene webbing. Polypropylene webbing is every bit as strong as nylon, but is lighter weight, breathable and 100% waterproof.

COG Dog collars come in two styles: Martingales, which are collars that are made from two loops (the larger loop goes over your dog's head and the smaller loop tightens when your dog tries to slip the collar) and No Buckle Slides. No buckle collars are just that: buckle-less. They adjust in size but don't have bulky hardware. That's great news if your small like yours truly; you can wear a wider collar without the bulk of heavier hardware.
They come in 1.5" and 2" widths, and you can choose silver or brass hardware.

My collar is a Mardi Gras inspired collar, since my namesake is New Orleans, after all! It's a 1.5" no buckle collar with silver hardware. It's purple with gold fleur de lis on it and kelly green lining.

For size reference, I am 10.5lbs, 10" tall, with a 10.5" neck.

PROS:

Durable
Cool
Well made
Very fair priced
Great customer service
Fast shipping
Not super bulky even though it's quite wide

CONS:

I only have one issue with these collars, and it's pretty big. The company doesn't offer widths narrower than 1.5". While I have a long, skinny neck and can pull of a wider collar, lots of other small dogs cannot and some people just prefer a narrower collar, regardless of their dog's size. A wider collar is better if you walk your dog on a collar (think of a shoelace around your neck vs. a man's tie), to wear around the house it's a bit much.

Overall I give COG Dog CollarWorks 4.5/5 stars!

Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola

  6. Super cute collar! Great review. With all of Petal's fur I prefer the narrower collars.
