Control Level: Expert

That thing about Dachshunds being chow hounds with no control that are impossible to train? Wrong.
For me, what shows the most control is that she keeps her eyes on me at all times, and off the temptations on her paws.

And no, she didn't get to eat all of them. Just two. ;)

  1. Hahahaha! That's some real self control you got there, Nola. Your Human also has a lot of patience to spell out your name in treats like that :)

  6. The only control here Nola, is the control we have over Mommy & Daddy. We rule the roost!

  10. Well Done, Nola!!!

We do exercises like that in our training class, and it's cool to see the different strategies taken by different dogs in terms of where they look relative to the treats. Some dogs turn their heads totally away from the treats while others seem to mentally block out the treats.

    In any case, Nola rocks!

  11. Hey Nola, Did you see me not eating the treats in front of me on my post today? I'm learning to be good like you too.

  12. My favorite part of training a dachshund (or seeing a trained doxie in action) is "serious face." Nice work Nola!
