A Scorching Beach Day

Hey, y'all! Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's post. Mom's torn between AK's Bourbon Street Beauty    for my registered name, leaning a little more heavily toward the second one. We're still looking for a decent voodoo inspired name to add to the table, so if you have one please share!

On Sunday, Mom took me to the beach. It was a pretty hot day, probably around 98-102 with a heat index of 105-107ish.
DM: It. Was. Fucking. Miserably. Hot. Like, really, really hot. It was also blindingly bright.
I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but if I'm too hot (or hungry, tired, bored, annoyed....) it's not a pretty sight. Me + heat = bad combo (which is kinda funny, since I don't do well in cold either). I get all red faced, sweaty, and mean as a snake. It was so hot that the ocean was piss warm and within seconds of getting out of the water you were completely dry and burning. Don't worry, I kept Nola cool by taking her in the water, hosing her off, and having her drink plenty of water.
Oh well, she had a blast, which is all that matters!

  8. Hey Nola!
Wow, that is a gorgeous beach! Hot or not I bet it was fun in the surf. I wish I could go wading with you. I think having Bourbon in your name would be cool since the color is right for your furs. BOL

  10. Wowie, that sure is HOT! My Mommy is the same way ~ Hates the extreme heat and the extreme cold. We agree, that is a beautiful beach and you are so lucky to live so close to it.

Always love to see you walking the beach Nola.

  13. Oh, your Mom and my Ma would be two peas in a pod!!! She is the same way in the heat!!! And, add humidity to it, and don't even try and talk to her! BOL
Our beaches here on the West Coast usually stay cool (and so does the ocean!) so there's no chance of over heatin' there!
Butts, they don't have white sand beaches though like your beautiful beach!
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

  14. What about Laveau in Nola's name, after the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans?

  17. Lady loves LOVES your beach! She's a real beach bum only we live in a land-locked city with 18 million people! Well, she goes to a beach every chance she gets. She went to Goa, a resort state in India. I stayed home. The dogs on the beach are BIG and not inoculated. We really enjoyed the photos. Life is a beach!
