Dachshund Nola Reviews: Cloud Star's DynamoDog Treats

Hi, y'all! A few weeks ago I got an email from Jon at Cloud Star asking me if I'd be interested in reviewing their new DynamoDog treats. After making sure the offer was valid, I said heck yeah!

About the company:

The company got its start in 1999 when Jennifer Melton and Brennan Johnson adopted their dog Samantha.  She was a picky eater, and because they could not find a commercially available treat to satisfy her finicky palate and yield to her allergies, they ended up baking their own.  When they whipped up a batch of the same low allergen dog treats that they had been making for a local animal shelter fundraiser, the treats were a huge hit and people started calling wanting more.
Beginning with Buddy Biscuits, Cloud Star has since expanded to include a wide variety of wholesome and natural dog treats, grooming products, and Wag More Bark Less merchandise.  Simple, easy to read ingredient statements resonate with pet parents and thrill dogs with even the most finicky palate, or sensitive skin.   Our treats and grooming products are made in the USA, with only first-quality ingredients.
Cloud Star is committed to giving. As part of our commitment to giving back, we pledge to donate to non-profit organizations benefitting animals, women, children, and the environment. We feel that doing good business should include doing good things for others.
The company has come a long way since the first batch of Buddy Biscuits was born in the home oven, but we
remain committed to providing our customers with the most wholesome and natural products available.

DynamoDog treats are "functional, grain free, all natural and made in the USA" dog treats. The line consists of three different varieties and four different flavors, and are available in 5oz and 14oz bags ranging from about $6 to $16. They flavors are:

     Getting the treats:

PROS:
Tasty
Resealable bag
Decent ingredients (Zuke's still has our hearts)
Fair price
USA made
Useful
Soft
Minimal smell
On the back of the bag it tells you how many treats ti give for your dog's size

CONS:
The salmon treats have a slightly unpleasant smell
While easy to break apart, they crumble quite easily once broken
They harden up quickly one you open the bag, so they're not good treats to leave in a treat bag for a training session or walk

Full sized treat

The size I eat

Overall, I give these treats 4 1/5 stars and 2 paws up! Head on over, and tell em Nola sent you! If you want to get yourself some of the DynamoDog treats, use the coupon code NOLA for 15% off all DynamoDog products (maximum 12 bags per customer and one coupon per customer) until 5/31/13.

Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola

  9. We like cloudstar treats over here too, although I tend to buy zukes mostly because they break apart easier for training and don't dry out as fast.

  10. Gosh, the treat bags are almost as tall as you. I've never used the varieties that you tested but I have used their training treats. They were good, but a bit more expensive per oz than similar ones. Thanks for the review!

  12. Mom just bought some Cloud Star treats for the first time a week or two ago... we love the chewy liver treats! We only get like a quarter of a treat at a time, but the smell makes up for that!
