Training Goals For: February

Hi, everyone! I think I'm going to be posting some new goals for training at the beginning of each month, and then at the end of the month I'll (hopefully!) show you videos/pictures of my new trick(s).

So for this month,  I'd like to learn:

Hold an object: I started working on this today (using a pencil), and after just two 5 minute sessions, I'm already biting down gently on it,

Back up: I've already got this a little bit, but I'd like to get better!

"Stop!": This one's Mom's idea. She wants me to drop to a down and stay there when she says the word "stop!".

All tricks and training is Positive Reinforcement and Mom uses a clicker.

Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola

  1. I like the idea of monthly training challenges & the ones you've picked are good...Getting progress so quickly shows you're doing well and it'll be fun to see how your month progresses

  2. Oh we can't wait to see the pencil trick! That's going to be a fun one. And we love the STOP idea. I bet that's for safety purposes.

I know how to back-up and am very good at it. I just know you're gonna ace that trick Nola. Mommy taught me Release a long time ago and it has come in handy for when I try to dead the tree rats and chippies.

I know a few others too, but not as many as you Nola. You're one smart cookie!!

Have fun training. That means lot's and lot's of yummy treats :)

    Hugs,
    Lily Belle

  13. Sounds like great tricks. Our Lady is trying to decide what our next trick will be. She says it is hard to train both of us at the same time. Can't wait to see how you do! Lee and Phod
