Hi, all! Dachshund Mommy here. Nola got into and ate our outside cats' wet and dry food (a whole can of wet, plus 1-2 cups dry), and now has a
horrid belly ache. (I'm writing on Monday night, so hopefully she's better today/tomorrow!) It's a double edged sword; it's commercial food, which Nola has not been on in over a year. She's used to real meat, fruit and veggies with no preservatives or crappy ingredients. And second, the food has corn and soy, which Nola is allergic to.
My poor Bean is gassy, has loose poop, a gurgly stomach, and a bad belly ache. She can't get comfy and groans. She wants her belly rubbed and is extra clingy. It's so sad! Fingers crossed and POTP she perks up!

| She's pretty bloated from the crap, too. :( My poor Bug! |
A couple of you asked on yesterday's post what we do/are planning to do with the goats, so I'm here to enlighten you. ;) All three of "the girls" are dairy goats. We have them so we can get milk and make cheese, soap, yogurt, ice cream, lotion, shampoo and just to have milk. We'll be selling some and keeping some for ourselves. All of these adventures will be documented on the blog, of course!

Hey Girlfurend,
ReplyDeleteJust what in the heck were you thinking Nola? Getting into that nasty kitty food is not good for you sweetie. We're all so very sorry to hear that you are not feeling too good because of it. Your Mommy's food is MUCH better, so we just don't get it. It's almost like you "became a dog" instead of the princess that you are. We hope that your belly ache goes away quickly and that you're back into princess mode once again.
Thanks for letting us know about your goat's! Now we know why you have them. We can't wait to read all about them in the near future and also to see your Mommy making cheese and lotion and such. That is going to be a lot of fun. They sure are cute and we enjoy seeing them.
MY sweet Newby finally asked me to be his Valentine! I'm so relieved. Of course I just had to say YES!!
Feel better our little furend. We're keeping our paws crossed for you.
Love ya,
Lily Belle & Muffin
Poor Nola! I hope she's feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteI love goat milk soap. I buy from a company in Indiana called Goat Milk Stuff. They have a lot of information about goats on their website (goatmilkstuff.com). They have Alpine Goats. I hope to one day visit their farm. I look forward to buying some of your soap!
I hope you are feeling better Nola....sometimes it tastes SO good but later on....well, you know now.... Love the goats!
ReplyDeleteWe hope you feel better soon, Nola. Cute goats.
ReplyDeleteOn no Nola, you are sicker than me. I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteOur Lady's cousin use to keep goats for milk and cheese. Have fun with that!
Poor Nola! We'll be keeping our paws crossed for you to feel better very soon. Tummy aches are awful.

ReplyDeleteMy mom is so excited about your dairy goats!! We use to have some and my mom misses fresh milk so much! Just the other day her and dad were talking about getting some more just for the milk. I miss the goat poop, it is a delight to roll in it...just in case you wanted to know! ;)

Howdy Nola, sorry you got the tummy ache but that cat food is pretty hard to resist isn't it. Hope you are feeling better real soon. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory. P.S. We love your goats, totally cool!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you have a tummy ache Nola. I sure hope you are doing better now. I can't wait to learn how to make stuff from goats milk. That will be fun.
ReplyDeleteMillie
Aw, poor girl....feel better fast!
ReplyDeleteok, Nola, I know how you feel...kinda like I do after Thanksgiving when I've eaten way too much of the chocolate cake on top of the big turkey meal! Take it easy for a few days! (Why is it that the dogs want to eat the cat food and the cats want to eat the dog kibble?)
ReplyDeleteHope your tummy feels better soon
ReplyDeleteOh so sorry to hear Nola's not feeling well. :( We will hold her close in our thoughts and hope the icky stuff passes out of her soon.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the goats! I love to make goat cheese but it's awful hard to come by goat's milk around here. Hope you get lots to make all the cool stuff you're talking about. And you get to enjoy the cuteness of goats, too!
Oh Nola....This is bad--really bad. I hope your tummy feels better by now.
ReplyDeletePoor Pup! Maybe she will learn a lesson? Nah.... Hope you get better!
ReplyDeleteOh Nola, why gurl?! Well, I would say you probally won't do that again, butts that never works for me! BOL
ReplyDeleteI know all abouts the gassy, gurgly tummy, it's no fun. Sorry you have to go through this. I'll keep my paws crossed that the worse of it is over, and you'll be right as rain tonight!
Kisses,
Ruby
Based on your title, I thought that Nola had a belly ache from eating goat poop! It sounds like cat food is almost as bad. I hope that she feels better very soon! Sending potp.

ReplyDeleteGoat cheese and lotions, how fantastic! We admire your ambition and love the entire concept.
