November Photo Challenge: Week 4 and Vet

Hi, everyone! Dachshund Mommy here with week 4 of the November Photo a Day Challenge. I'm mostly happy with the week's photos, LOL! Which is your favorite?

Nola goes to the vet today for her annual exam. It's a new vet (since we moved here in May), but my aunt's dog goes there and they're happy with them.
While we're there, I want to talk to the vet and ask if Nola might possibly have Luxating Patella (slipping kneecaps). When she runs full speed, she does this odd extra long step with her right back leg. Just the right one, and only when she runs at full speed. It doesn't happen every single time she runs, or in a pattern when it happens, but it's there (however faint it is). It's the same leg Nola sprained by falling off the bed when she was 4 months old. So if you could keep your paws and fingers crossed everything checks out it'd mean a lot to us!

Hugs,
Dachshund Mommy
PS. You like the new header?

Day 23: Black
Day 24: A sound you heard
Day 25: Sky
The pale blue of a FL sky at dusk is incomparable.

Day 26: In the cupboard
Day 27: Tree
Day 28: Vehicle
It was piss pouring rain this day, which is my excuse for the crappy picture. :P

Day 29: Big
My big hearted little-dog-in-a-big-dog-suit. With a very crooked nose. So cute!

  4. From the mom - First, LOVE the new header - Nola could show up under our Christmas tree anytime. And of course that last picture of Nola is my fav then the Christmas tree then the pic of her collar. This a;sp caught my eye when you were talking about Nola's little elongated step. The Diva Shasta has a little thing also with a back leg where it is like a skip step - like she misses a step but I believe it is when she runs or trots. It doesn't slow her down any and as far as I know she never injured it. The leg also has a little tremor when she is at rest. I really need to have it checked out - especially since her and Shiloh are truly related and he has that IVDD.

Sending lots of good thoughts for a good vet visit - paws and fingers crossed.

  7. The Vet! The Vet! Run Nola run... We sure will put all our paws together for you Nola, you can count on us.

First we just gotta say your tree is ever so beautiful! How many Doxie themed ornaments are hanging on there? We bought a Charlie Brown tree at Wally World and it sits on the table top. But it's beautiful to us because we had some of Grandma's pretty bird ornaments to put on it. And of course, we had to buy a Doxie 2012 ornament too. But that's too heavy and might make the tree fall over so it's sitting under the tree.

Of course your new header is lovely! It's a picture of YOU!!!! Mommy's still trying to figure out how to change ours around. (Dork)

Now we all know that Day 29 is the bestest picture. That's because we LOVE you Nola girl.

Hope you do well at the Vet's.

  15. I hope everything checks out ok at the vet. Chester does this weird skip sometimes when she runs but I just think it's a quirk. Sounds like what you are looking at might be more worrisome.

  17. I don't know Nola, wait to you see my header now! It's on steroids and Mommy doesn't know how to make "us" smaller. Tell your Mom we said thank you!

We are thrilled that you did so well at the Vet's today! Whew, we was nervous there thinking you had a peg leg or something. Did the Dr. say anything about your leg at all? Of course we'd love you either way.

    Hugs,

We hope things go well at the vet for you and for Nola. Don't need any joint problems at all.

All your photos are great, but you know we are partial to the last one:)
