A Phoenix/Pack Update

Hi everyone! Today's post is just a quick post on how Phoenix is doing and how everyone's adjusted to having a new pack member and all that good stuff.

The first thing is, OMD Phee has gotten so freaking big! Well, relatively speaking. Phee's only 2-3lbs, but she's so big compared to when she came home. Dachshund Mommy: Phee is a bit bigger than Nola at this age, but smaller then Boston and Auggie. I think her adult weight will be around 11-13lbs. She's doing great! Healthy, happy, active little girl.
She's now 100% on homemade food and her fur is slightly less oily than it was, but I think part of that is just the way her fur and skin is. She's doing wonderful on homemade food.
She got her second wormer today and tomorrow she'll be getting her second round of shots (the 5-way vaccine).
Her personality is clingy, curious and a bit dim but very sweet. My place as the Border Collie Doxie is in no danger, BOL!

I get along pretty well with Phee, Boston does sometimes and Auggie doesn't care for her. Can't say I blame him for that; Phee bit him in places that really hurt if you're a boy dog, if you know what I mean ;). I've been very good and gentle with Phee, we play bitey face everyday. I still growl and snap if she nips me, tries to take my bones, eats out of my food bowl or goes on Mom's bed. Boston's attempted to carry Phee around like a mama dog does, BOL!

So that's it! Nothing much to report on. Everyone's doing great!
Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola
That's another thing about  Phee; she hates the camera!

This is ME at 12 weeks old! How cute am I? Phee is as big at 9 week as I was at 12. And look at that, I'm already posing.

By 12 weeks I knew sit, down and kisses.

  5. Awwwwww! How adorable! I'm trying to keep a better tab of Elsie's weight than I did with Flo's... she was 5.3kg when I got her on 3rd Aug. 10 days later (a week ago) she was 6.7kg and this evening she is 8.4kgs. I can still see all her ribs, so I don't think she's just porking up!

I'm glad they're all settled together, even if Auggie isn't the biggest fan.

Good job Nola at accepting Phee as part of your pack. Keep up the good work sweetie.

  15. Awww! It sounds like you are all a big happy family. Everything sounds great except for the....ehem(throat clearing).....biting of the boy parts. And Nola not everyone was made for the camera like are. You are a natural.

  17. hey Nola,

Great update on sweet Phee! She seems adorable, and how cute that Boston tries to carry around like a mama dog. Poor Auggie! Ouch.

I am glad your position as Border Collie Doxie is safe. I wouldn't want you and Phee being rivals for that spot!

I love your puppy photos! You were obviously meant for stardom, and knew it at a young age!

  21. The new family member looks adorable Nola! I was pugsitting a friend's fawn pug and just like Phee I was nipping away at Douglas and harassing him to play. Looks like Phee and I would get along great!

  27. Wow, Boston must like Phee if she tried to carry her around like a baby! I'm glad that everyone is getting along. You are a great big sister, Nola and I know that you'll have her posing for the camera in no time!

  28. Everyone has their own pace to develop and bloom. Phee will be a lot different in another 10 months than she is now so don't be too quick to make big judgments. Glad the pack is melding.

  29. So good to hear how well Phee is doing. She is a cutie. Don't worry if she gets bigger than you, size isn't everything. You also made one very cute pup, Nola. And it looks like you are all doing well as a pack. Phantom doesn't have much to do with Lightning but he is OK with him being part of the gang, just a wee bit too energetic for his old bones:)

  30. She is soooo cute! (But o.m.g. - you were aDORable as a baby!)

I'm glad she's fitting in and not too worried to hear you more mature pups are keeping her in line.

    Love getting the updates. :)
