Food Day and Introducing....

Hi everyone! I've been meaning to tell y'all a big thanks from my Sweetie for all the birthday wishes. She loved them!
I have some very exciting news!!!! We decided on a name for my new sister! It's....

According to Dictionary.com, the word Phoenix means:
Noun
1. a mythical bird of great beauty fabled to live 500 or 600 years in the Arabian wilderness, to burn itself on funeral pyre, and to rise from its ashes in the freshness of youth and live through another cycle of years: often an emblem of immortality or of reborn idealism or hope.

We firmly believe that Angel Charlotte will live on inside Phoenix, and picked this name to represent that. I want to say a massive thanks to Nicole of All The Small Stuff for suggesting this name. Thank you, All The Small Stuff!

Second, I realized I haven't shared a food day with you in awhile! For anyone who's new here, I have allergies to corn and soy so Mom makes my food. More info can be found under the page titled Food Fit For A Princess.
This week's food has:

5-6 cups cooked chicken
4 cups of raw oats
2 cups pineapple (Auggie is a recovering poop addict)
4 celery sticks, cut small
5 carrots, grated
1 can of chick peas
1 can of white kidney beans
3 TBS ground flaxseed
2 TBS parsley
2 TBS ground eggshell

Yummy! Here's how much food we get a day:

ME, 9lbs: 2/3 to 1 cup
Auggie, around 13lbs: 2 cups
Boston, 15lbs: 2 cups

Plus treats and scraps throughout the day, of course.

Sometimes, I steal my brother's food.

Who wants to come for dinner? BOL!
Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola

  3. Thank you so much for this recipe! We needed this! Noel is really itchy! And I've finally decided that it must be her diet. I'm going to the grocery store, and going to make this right away this morning!
Nola, how did you find out that it is corn and soy specifically that you are allergic to?
    Thank You!

  7. Oh Nola..... Know I know that my Mommy's brain is farting today because she has what she calls a head banger (migraine) and with all her Olympic entries and being worried about Picasa hosting her pics and shes almost at her size limit and all, so you'll have to excuse her on this..... When did you get a new sister?? What the heck did we miss?? Did we miss a very important postie? Help me out here, after all, I AM your very BFF and all.....

    Hugs,
    Lily Belle

  17. When it rains it pours.... Mommy just typed a huge, long message to you and Bam! It's disappeared. Me thinks Mommy better get in the game real soon, bcuz she's missing alot on Blogville ~ OBVIOUSLY! We don't know how she missed this most exciting news. I know she's been really busy the past month with her Auntie's Memorial Service and Grandpa issues (like when he locked the keys in the van and the van was running for over 5 hours.) I hope that you can forgive my Mommy for being such a Knucklehead. Muffin and I will be giving her the stinkeye around here for quite a while over this issue.

Anyways.... We are THRILLED to (go back and) read about Phoenix! You and your family have so much love to give and share. She is going to be one lucky little pupper to have you as her BIG sister. We know she is going to be an awesome addition to your family.

Please don't hold Mommy's aging brain against us... We love you Nola!!

    Hugs,
    Lily Belle & Muffin
