Monday Mischief: The Not So Indestructible Kong

I'm joining Monday Mischief!
First off let me tell you, I was never much of a chewer when I was a puppy. A princess has better things to do with her time (like commanding her loyal servant subject to carry her tiny self to the one spot in the yard that was suitable for me) than chew on random objects. BUT, I have always loved my little red Kong toy, even though Mom's been hard pressed to find stuff to put in it as I hate PB. I'm not a big chewer, but I'm a strong chewer.
Last night Mom gave me my Kong and she hears this awful riiiiipppp sound and a happily munching Doxie. I chewed off the top part of my so called indestructible Kong!
Heehee it was the only way I could get the treat out! I guess I get the black Kong now.
Kisses and Tail Wags,
The Mischievous Dachshund Nola
Note from Dachshund Mommy: I've had Mastiffs who loved Kongs and couldn't leave a mark on them, yet tiny Teckel destroys hers!

  1. I like Kong toys. Mom puts peanut butter in them sometimes.

  2. I destroyed my red kong too!! Mom bought me the black one for "powerful chewers" & it has lasted for about 2 years now. :)

  3. Hey Nola!
Wow, great job killing that toy! You're a powerful girl fur sure and I bet the next one will be a little tougher. Killing a kong is even better than unstuffing a stuffie! BOL.

  4. Gosh. You are a strong chewer, Nola!
Mommy brought a red Kong home once but I refused to touch it so she returned it. I'm not a fan of rubber toys but I love my stuffed toys! Especially the ones that squeek.

  5. Jaws of steel Nola! Tell Mom to try yogurt or cottage cheese and then freeze them. She can put some veggie pieces in first to plug the hole.

  10. Hahaha! Congrats on destroying your very first Kong! They are definitely not as indestructable as they appear. My dog is now on her eighth or ninth black Kong in two and a half years. But that's okay. As long as she loves them, we will keep buying more!

  18. Bruhaahaahaa! Well done Nola. You may have to become the chew tester for Kong.

Sometimes we get our Kongs filled with kibble with a cheese plug at the big end. We love it.

  22. Cleo ate hers too, and we bought her the extra large Kong!

  23. That's scary! Nola must keep her teeth sharp!

Our Cracker Lab, R, manages to do that over a long time with a red kong. So, he has graduated to the black ones. Of course, life can't be simple, so we discovered that K is allergic to the black rubber. Now, they each have their own stash of kongs. We stuff 'em with canned dog food.

The photo of Nola is priceless. I can almost hear her saying "Gotcha!".

  31. Yet another thing you and Glacier have in common. You two are a match made in Heaven. Glacier tore the top off of his black Kong in less than 20 minutes...no more Kongs for Glacier. LOL You are obviously more impressive though as you are quite tiny. :)

  32. OMD, Nola - you must have teeth of steel :)

  33. We are very impressed! Both of my boxers have spent countless hours trying to tear a Kong apart with very little successes! You must have been very determined!

  34. I am MOST Impressed, Nola! Me and Brudder Ranger luvs our Kongs, too, but mom had to get us the black ones. They last a lOT longer. We still haven't torn one of those up yet.
